Mutant Over-Wintered Carrots

Alien Carrots

This is what happens when you leave your carrots in the ground for a full year from one spring to the next.

You get "Attack of the Mutant Carrots".

Could be the title of a new movie....

  1. It was very scary helping you weed the garden area the other day.

After being trapped in the dirt for a year, those ugly, twisted mutant carrots were very angry, and could have gotten me. I was a lot faster though.

Yes, a catchy sci-fi movie title, but probably won't be getting an Emmy.

  2. Those are the weirdest carrots I've ever seen . . . way-weird! Did they taste okay? Or were they too woody?

  3. Aw, I think they're fascinating and beautiful in a mutant sort of way! Great picture. I want to know also whether they are still edible. :-)

  4. Hi Bob, CA Grammy & Danni,
I actually have not tasted these particular carrots yet. I am sure they are still edible, but probably are a bit tough. I plan to make soup out of them or at least cook them a long time as part of a stew to make them more tender.
