I Like Peeps

Mountain of Marshmallow Peeps!

Yes, I like Easter marshmallow Peeps, all of the different colors, especially after they are slightly aged (petrified) and a little chewy, but this many Peeps (see above photo) all at one time is waaay more than I ever thought I would receive in my Easter baskets! I will be eating these sweet sugary Peeps for many months to come.

Whoa! I feel a sugar high coming on...

  1. I love all the bright, cheerful colors of those little peeps. But I have to say that I do not like to eat them. My teeth are getting cavities just looking at that picture! :-)
But clearly, the Easter bunny loves you.

  2. I'm with frugalmom . . . the colors are gorgeous, and they are cute little things, but I've never liked eating them. Just too sugary. But I'll take chocolate any time!

  3. Hi Marcee & Janice,

Yes, I agree, they are too sugary. Once a year I enjoy indulging in a few. This year, the Easter Bunny went a bit overboard in Peep generosity...

  4. Peeps,

you can barbecue them, boil them, broil them, bake them, saute them. Then there's Peep-kabobs, Peep creole, Peep gumbo, Pan fried Peeps, deep fried Peeps, stir-fried Peeps.

There's pineapple Peeps, lemon Peeps, coconut Peeps, pepper Peeps, Peep soup, Peep stew, Peep salad, Peeps and potatoes, Peep burger, Peep sandwich.

Me, I would prefer a chocolate egg or a chocolate bunny ear.

  5. Hi Bob,
Peep soup? Peeps & potatoes? Peep Creole? Ha ha ha! Too funny! I actually prefer chocolate to to sugary marshmallows too, but Peeps are iconic. They are a modern Pagan symbol of Easter. Gotta have them each year. Besides, they are cool. Lots of great colors.

  6. Wow - that's a whole lotta peeps!
As Bob was reciting his list of the many ways to eat Peeps, I was reminded of Forrest Gump's friend, Bubba, relating all the thousands of ways to eat shrimp... (grilled shrimp, fried shrimp, baked shrimp, sauteed shrimp, shrimp on a stick...) lol

  8. I LOVE the peeps! I get them at Easter, tear the wrap just a bit to let air in and let them sit. They are just about perfect by the following Easter.
    Chewy goodness.
