  1. Nothing like a fresh BLT with fresh bread. That looks very yummy!

  3. I agree with Hardware Bob . . . Yummo! There really is nothing like homemade bread fresh from the oven. And you can never go wrong with anything that includes bacon!

  4. I love BLT sandwiches!!
Where'd you get your recipe for your white bread? It looks wonderful sliced like that!
I can practically smell the warm loaf in that picture. Mmmm...comfort food. It's cloudy and cool today - good day to maybe bake some bread. :-)

  5. Hi Marcee,
    Thanks! It was delicious!

    Hi Bob,
    I know.

    Hi CA Grammy,
    I love bacon!

    Hi Danni,
I've been getting a lot of my bread recipes lately from the book "Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day". I used their basic white bread recipe and put two pounds of dough into a one pound loaf pan. I've actually been struggling a bit with making a satisfactory sandwich loaf. I am much better at making the round chewy artisan breads. I have also experimented with some recipes from Farmgirl Susan at her blog "A Year in Bread" at this link:

  6. That's great!! You and Marcee have great bread-baking minds - she got me this book for my birthday and, bad me, I've been so busy outside and all, I haven't baked a single recipe from it yet. Now I can't wait!!

  7. Mmmmm! Totally homemade. Well, except for the bacon....unless you started raising pigs?
    hehe!

    That white bread looks gorgeous!
    And yummy, too.
I don't think it would make it as sandwich bread around here. Within seconds of it coming out of the oven, it would be sliced and slathered with butter.
    Mmmmm!

  8. Hi Danni,
I'd love to see what you bake from the book. We can compare notes!

    Hi Lisa,
No,I am not raising pigs. I don't want to eat an animal that I have known personally. I do like my bacon though. Anonymous bacon.
